Experience the southern plains during the wildebeest calving season, with three nights around Ndutu giving you time to follow the herds and watch the wildlife around them. Begin among Tarangire’s baobabs and finish with a game drive inside the Ngorongoro Crater.
Route: Arusha → Tarangire → Karatu → Ndutu → Ngorongoro → Arusha

Leave Arusha after breakfast for a game drive in Tarangire. Explore the river valleys and baobab landscapes, looking for elephants, giraffes and other wildlife. Enjoy a picnic lunch before continuing to Karatu for dinner.

Travel through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area towards Ndutu. After a picnic lunch, explore the surrounding plains on an afternoon game drive before settling into camp.

Spend the day searching for wildebeest herds and newborn calves. Your guide will choose the route according to recent wildlife movements, with time to watch predator activity and photograph the open landscapes.

Enjoy another full day around Ndutu, exploring different areas as conditions allow. With no change of accommodation, you can spend more time watching wildlife and less time travelling between camps.

Head out for a final morning game drive before travelling back through the Ngorongoro highlands. Arrive in Karatu later in the afternoon for a relaxed evening at the lodge.

Depart early and descend into the crater for a game drive. Explore its grasslands, wetlands and lake shores before enjoying a picnic lunch and returning to Arusha, where your safari ends.
